It is said that humans have evolved from apes. I consider us to be pipedal apes. We have evolved in a strange direction, but we are still just apes.

Hi Dr. Shipman!
When I wrote this post, I did it somewhat tongue in cheek. Hence the spelling (I have encountered a number of creationists who spelled it that way so I was poking a little gentle fun…). In hindsight, it was probably a bad idea, so I have corrected the spelling. On a totally different subject, I enjoyed The Neanderthals and The Wisdom of the Bones.

This Q & A would be more authoritative if you managed to spell “monkeys” correctly, instead of writing “monkies.” Misspelling key words tends to suggest to readers that there has been a lack of care involved.
